How you memorize essays Question 4: There are many techniques which have been developed to increase the efficiency of memory . Select 3 techniques , discuss them in detail and present examples of when they can be used. In the world today it is a must to be able to remember things. Memory is a big part in everyones life. Their is hardly a day that goes by when you do not have to remember something. If someone doesnt have a great memory it could cause somewhat of a down fall in their professional life. In this paper I will discuss three different memorization habits and how they can be contributed to ones everyday lifestyle. One of many ways that help people memorize things is in a verbal sense called Rhymes. Rhyming is an easy way for someone to memorize certain things. This method is most common with children in school. Many people that grow up still remember these little detailed Rhymes that help them get threw school. Rhymes are nothing other than little sayings which sometimes make no sense , but when repeated in your mind it helps your recall what is need to know . The Rhyme that I remember best was used in math class I ate and ate until I was sick on the floor eight times eight equals sixty-four that saying is really kind of ridiculous , but I always new what eight times eight was . There are so many sayings out there and everyone of them will help anyone memorize. Rhymes have been and always will have a big impact on helping people in memorization. Another strategy to help on to memorize things is called Acrostics. Acrostics is nothing more than a saying in which the first letter of each word of the saying is the cue to help recall information you need to know . This method is very similar to the method of Rhyming , but you only use the one letter from each word to represent the cue for your needed information. The Nuremberg Trials Sentencing - Essay Example All this was happening after World War II, at a time when the world was coming to terms with the presence of human rights and civil liberties. This paper will examine the political heads and military leaders that had a part to play in the death of innocent Jews, and their fate after the verdicts were made after the initial IMT (International Military Tribunal). Twenty-four men were to face trial, but only twenty-one stood before the court to prove their innocence. Subsequent hearings were for judges, doctors, and the military in that region to prove whether they were guilty of the crimes. This group was identified as the second-tier and after a lot of deliberation, the guilty parties received much lesser punishment than their predecessors in the IMT. During that time in German’s history, the military had might and carried out activities and operations that may not have been permitted in this day (Evans 82). The Chief Prosecutor, Frencz B. Benjamin, during his time in the regio n admitted to letting some things pass unnoticed like the burning alive of an individual. This was meant to be an undercover task to evaluate the practices of the military in the region. It was during these subsequent hearings that a significant number of individuals were sentenced to prison. Brigadier Telford Taylor, Chief of Council for the prosecution, ensured that trials were carried out in the regions that still required the court’s attention. The growing differences between the allied forces made it more difficult to have control over the court. However, the Control Council Law ensured that trials were conducted without the presence of all the members of the allied forces. These trials may have found the second-tier parties guilty, but the sentences they were handed may not have been befitting (Evans 93). This was according to some parties that thought they were handed lesser punishment than what they actually deserved. The military personnel indicted by the courts were thought to have violated their code of conduct and ethics. They, therefore, could not be given a dignified death according to some of the parties present in the sentencing of these groups. Death by hanging was familiar in that time, and it is alleged that it was agonizing and painful as some of the parties had to struggle during strangulation for 14 to 28 minutes before they died (Ehrenfreund 145). Some saw this as well-deserved, as death through firing squad, as was the case during that time, would have been much dignified. Top ranking military officials were tried during the first IMT, but the subsequent hearings may have been for the lesser individuals that actually played a part in the persecution of innocent individuals. Twelve subsequent trials were carried out after the first International Military Tribunal, and the judges’ trial was the third. Josef Altstotter, Hermann Cuhorst, Herbert Klemm, Wolfgang Mettgenberg, Hans Peterson, and Curt Rothenberger were among some of the parties indicted during the subsequent trials (Ehrenfreund 167). Some of the mentioned parties were acquitted of the charges while others faced life imprisonment. It is evident that the subsequent trials conducted were for groups that were much lower in rank than the previous group, which paved the way for the tribunals. Chromatography is a common name for techniques based on the partition of the molecules to be analyzed between a mobile and a stationary phase. Separation is the result of different partitions of molecules between the two phases. Because the best separation of any solutes can be obtained under equilibrium conditions, analytical chemists prefer to use chromatographic systems that are as near to the equilibrium state as possible. However, in the case of preparative chromatography, where the main objective is not the optimal separation of solutes but the maximum yield of one or more solutes at a given purity, the situation is entirely different. Preparation chromatographic separations are generally not equilibrium processes. Pressure and temperature : also when decrease the pressure or temperature the rate decrease .example : 3 g of calcium carbonate react with 5 g of hydrochloric acid to produce 3 g of carbon dioxide in 10s at 25C and 1atm. rate = -d [CaCO3] / t = -d[3] / 10s . but the time is increase to 20s , because the pressure decrease to 0.5 and temperature decrease to 15 , so the rate = -d [3] / 20s . in a chemical reaction the reactant decrease over time and product increase over time . The rate will decrease over time as the hydrochloric acid is used up (its concentration decreases)The graph in after page shows the volume of gas produced over time in the reaction between HCl and CaCO3 .All three reactions result in the same amount of CO2 gas being produced; however the higher the concentration of HCl, the faster the rate of reaction, thus the less time it takes for the reaction to be complete . Typing book titles in all caps is a peculiarity of the publishing industry. According to The Chicago Manual of Style, the practice originated in the days of the typewriter when titles that are now easily italicized on a computer had to be underscored; typing the title in all caps for industry correspondence and interdepartmental memos saved time. The all-caps practice has continued into the digital age, perhaps because early email programs transformed italics into gibberish; typing titles in all capitals insured that they would be readable. Most of today’s email programs handle italics perfectly well, but the practice persists. Many sites offering advice to writers recommend the all-caps approach when corresponding with publishers and agents. Here’s an example from a model query letter on the Writer’s Digest site: I’m currently seeking representation for my YA [Young Adult] novel, FALLS THE SHADOW. Given your interest in science fiction, I thought it might be a good fit for your list. CMOS does not approve, not even for email. Their recommendation â€Å"when italic type is unavailable† is to type an underscore at the beginning of the title and another at the end of the title, as in this example: When I first read _The History of the Siege of Lisbon_, I was so grateful to discover a book about a proofreader that Saramago’s hypnotic stringing together of sentences nearly sent me into an ecstatic trance. Here is the CMOS stance on the formatting of titles of creative works: 1. The titles of novels, long poems, movies, and television series are italicized. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (a novel) Flowers for Algernon (a novella, but still long enough to warrant an italicized title) Paradise Lost (a poem of about 10,000 lines) Enoch Arden (a poem of about 900 lines) To Have and Have Not (a movie) Downton Abbey (a television series) 2. The titles of short stories, short poems, songs, chapter titles, and television episodes are enclosed in double quotation marks. â€Å"Lucy Looks into a Wardrobe† (chapter title from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) â€Å"Ulysses† (short poem of 73 lines) â€Å"Deus ex Machina† (episode title of television series Person of Interest) â€Å"When You Wish upon a Star† (song) Note: British usage prefers single quotation marks (e.g., ‘Ulysses’). As with certain other matters concerning mechanics, The Associated Press Stylebook does not concur with CMOS. AP style recommends enclosing the titles of all of the following in quotation marks: books computer games movies operas plays poems albums songs radio and television programs lectures speeches works of art AP does not enclose the following works in quotation marks: the Bible catalogs almanacs directories dictionaries encyclopedias gazetteers handbooks software programs As with apostrophe use, it’s up to the writer to choose a style guide to follow. Given that Omega Craft sets rigorous standard production specifications, this arrangement can give their Kit car parts the needed touch of expertise. The costs will also be certainly less if Omega Craft only looks to manage the supply network, market these kit car components and to uptake sales and post sales services while getting the actual products manufactured by someone else.
